About Our School and Our Philosophy
The School
Located in Dearborn, Michigan, the Academy of Animal Arts is a licensed school dedicated to the teaching and advancement of individuals concerned with the care and maintenance of animals.
Animals have been loyal companions for thousands of years. The devotion to pets and concern for their care and their grooming has created a market for many career opportunities within this expanding industry. As more animal lovers discover the joys of pet ownership, the need for pet services increases. Recent surveys show that the dog and cat population in the United States is over 105.2 million, and owners spend over 99 billion dollars annually in grooming and pet care.
Staffed with a nationally acclaimed, Certified Master Groomer and other outstanding dedicated professionals, the Academy is able to educate the student in all phases of animal care. Daily hand-on experience is reinforced through classroom instruction and guest lectures.
The Academy maintains standards that afford the student the opportunity to function at the highest level of achievement. Many graduates have become Certified Groomers in the Professional Pet Groomers Certification program.
Our Philosophy
We are a teaching institution in a vocational field. Our main objective is to prepare students for working in the pet grooming field - - not just to give them a general knowledge of grooming. The qualifications of our instructors allow us to create respect for the grooming profession by teaching the student to work with confidence and competency. Based on the concept that knowledge, precision, creativity, quality and performance begets "grooming excellence" which begets success.
To ensure close student supervision, we have limited each class size. Quality education for each student is our goal.
