Faculty and Instructors

Director - Carolyn Bullock, CMG

Carolyn has been involved as a professional pet stylist since 1960, is a Certified Master Groomer, and has been a member of P.P.G.C. and N.D.G.A.A since 1980. A breeder, dog show exhibitor, handler, grooming contest judge, instructor, author, lecturer, to mention just a small amount of Carolyn's expertise in the Pet Industry. She has produced several Cablevision episodes of “Pet Pointers” for Livonia Cablevision and various educational videos. Carolyn has been instrumental in the founding of several professional grooming associations for the advancement of the industry, as well as serving as of director for the National Dog Groomers Association of America, the oldest international groomers association in the world. Her deep passion for the industry and the craft she loves has won her numerous awards from around the world as a Grooming Certifier and Consultant. Her writings have been used by some of the leading companies including Purina, Oster and Gimborn Rich Health, a drug sundry house for pets. Carolyn and her husband Bob worked as consultants to the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture to write and update the State of Michigan, "Dog Laws" as well as being instrumental in the writing of the Department of Agriculture "Pesticide Manual" and test.

Co-Director - Bobbie Green

Bobbie brings a wealth of enthusiasm to the Academy of Animal Arts. Having served on the Academy Board for a number of years, and was  promoted to the position of Co-Director. Bobbie is a breeder and dog handler with over 50 years of experience working with dogs. In addition, she is a certified CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator for the American Kennel Club. Having worked in the entertainment and corporate arenas for many years, she brings a strong knowledge of computers and business management to the school’s curriculum. Bobbie also brings a wealth of knowledge regarding several breeds of dogs including Bassett hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Rottweilers, Bulldogs and, Australian, Cairn and Norwich terriers. In addition, she has trained both two Cairn terriers and a Chihuahua for use in such stage productions as “The Wizard of Oz” and “Legally Blonde, The Musical”. Bobbie is also a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, has been the president of the Terrier Club of Michigan for the past 19 years, is a member of and has served on the boards of the Cairn Terrier Club of Greater Detroit, the Detroit Bulldog Club, the Doberman Pinscher Club of Michigan, and the Michigan American Pit Bull Terrier Club. In addition, Bobbie has been a featured speaker at the Detroit Kennel Club shows.

Instructor, Lori Visu

Lori is one of the Academy’s outstanding graduates. Her talent as a professional pet stylist and instructor exceeds all expectations. In addition to assisting us here at the Academy, Lori owns and operates Coco’s Sitting Pretty LLC Mobile Pet Grooming.



Additional guest speakers are from the pet and veterinary industry as well as Professional dog show handlers and breeders. Future instructors will be selected from national certifying associations only.
